Greatness Through Childlike Receiving
Luke 9:46-48 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
In Luke 9:46-48, the disciples argue about who is greatest. Jesus answers by placing a child beside him, teaching that greatness comes to those who receive the humble and, through receiving the child, receive the Father.
Neville's Inner Vision
View Luke 9:46-48 as a working of consciousness. The crowd’s quarrel about being the greatest is a dream of separation in the mind. Jesus, sensing the heart’s movement, brings forth a child as a symbol of pure, unconditioned awareness. To receive this child in my name is to acknowledge that the I AM within me has no need to compete; when I receive the humble, I am really receiving the Christ within, and thus receiving Him who sent me. The 'least' among you is not a rank but a state of non-attachment to validation, a willingness to be seen by God as I AM. In that light, greatness becomes a byproduct of inner humility: I am great because I have chosen to be the least in my own thoughts, and grace expresses through me as natural abundance. The answer to the argument is not more striving but alignment with the living I AM, letting humility lead and watching the outer world reflect that inner truth.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, assume you are the least in your inner circle, and imagine presenting the child of humility to your I AM. Feel the I AM warmly receiving it and know grace is already yours.
