Luke 9:41-42

Biblical Context

Jesus confronts unbelief, commands the troubled boy forward, and heals him by rebuking the unclean spirit. The restoration is returned to his father, illustrating the inner return to wholeness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the Luke narrative, the 'faithless and perverse generation' is not a crowd outside you; it's the recurring pattern of doubt within your own consciousness. Jesus stands as the I AM, the unassailable presence that does not endure unbelief. When you are told to bring thy son hither, you are invited to bring a stubborn belief into the light of awareness. The devil that throws him down is your old habit of fear, the image that life is other than your own consciousness. But the command remains: rebuke the unclean spirit and heal the child, and deliver him again to his father. The healing is not the eradication of the external event but the alignment of your inner state with truth. The child is your true self, momentarily overwhelmed by misplaced power; when you declare and dwell in I AM, the disturbance is displaced, and the state of wholeness returns to the father within. This is the law: consciousness creates form, and the healer is your own awareness.

Practice This Now

In the next few minutes, assume the role of the Father within you. Bring the troubling belief into your light and silently declare to the I AM that the healing truth is here now; I see the son restored and am filled with quiet power.
