Calm the Storm Within
Luke 8:24-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Luke 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The disciples wake Jesus in fear as a storm rages. He quiets the wind and sea, then questions where their faith has gone.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Luke's scene, the storm is not separate weather but the turbulence of your own mind. The wind and raging water echo thoughts that have risen against your awareness, trying to redraw reality from fear rather than from the I AM that you are. The moment you awaken to the truth that you are the very consciousness that commands, the storm loses its power. The inquiry 'Where is your faith?' is not a rebuke but a beckoning to return to your natural state: the I AM awake and aware, the life principle that speaks and the world changes. Jesus, then, speaks from the inner Self; when you align with that inner posture, you realize that even the fiercest winds obey the command you utter in imagination. The outer storm resolves only as your inner conviction holds. So practice now by assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled—the calm presence that cannot be moved by waves—and keep that state as your reality. The external weather will reflect the inner command, and you will walk through any sea unshaken.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, breathe, and declare in the present tense, 'I am the calm that commands the winds.' Visualize the sea settling to glass as you feel the I AM within guiding every sensation.
