Inner Power Refined Luke 4:6-7
Luke 4:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Luke 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
In Luke 4:6–7, the tempter offers worldly power for worship; the inner reading reveals this as a test between seeking external control and aligning with the I AM within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the scene as a projection of your own thinking. The devil is not a person but a thought-form in your consciousness offering power and glory if you worship it. 'All this power will I give thee' is the mind's temptation to believe power comes from without, from status, from others' approval. 'for that is delivered unto me' hints that you have ceded that belief to a belief system that presumes separation—power belongs to a separate force. 'If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine' declares the bargain: align with fear, seek control through appearances, and you imagine you will possess the world. But the kingdom of the I AM is not granted by others; it is claimed by consciousness that knows itself as the sole creator. When you identify with the I AM—the ground of awareness—you discover that power and glory arise from within, not as external trophies but as steadiness, compassion, clarity, and decisive action guided by love. The temptation reveals your unfinished worship: you are asked to trade your inner sovereignty for fantasies. Reclaim your dominion by choosing to worship the I AM here and now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and declare, 'I AM the power in me now.' Then revise the scene: the devil offers power, but you turn away and worship the I AM; see the inner kingdom flood with light.
