Calvary Within: The I AM
Luke 23:32-33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Two criminals were led to be crucified with Jesus at Calvary; Luke records the place called Calvary, with the cross between them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the scene as not far away in history but close within your own consciousness. The two malefactors are the stubborn beliefs that cling to separation—fear on one hand, pride on the other—carried toward the inner hill we call Calvary. The cross becomes a symbol of the sinner’s belief that life is earned or punished, and the right and left are the two currents of thought that would keep you divided from the I AM. Jesus on the center cross embodies the realized sense of I AM—the awareness that you are God made manifest, always present, never absent. When you identify with that I AM, the outer scene ceases to be something done to you and begins to reflect what you accept as true within. The mockery and crowd are your own thoughts about how you are seen; their power dissolves as you insist that you are one with the Source. The so-called death is the old self dying to the illusion of separation, and the atonement is already achieved in your present awareness. In this light, redemption is not a future event but the steady recognition of your divine state.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is with you now; with your next breath, lift the old self to Calvary and affirm, 'I am one with God; separation is forgiven.' Feel the release as fear and doubt melt into that truth.
