Read Luke 20 in context

Scripture Focus

41And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
42And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
44David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
Luke 20:41-44

Biblical Context

Jesus questions the claim that the Christ is simply David’s son, then cites Psalm 110 to show that David calls the Messiah Lord, illustrating a paradox about his true identity and authority.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you the Christ is both the son of your mortal self and the Lord of your immortal self. The kingdom does not come from external kings or places, but from the I AM, the awareness you are. When you acknowledge that the Christ sits at the right hand of your mind, you begin to see that David's Lord is not apart from David but the ruling consciousness within him. The enemies you face are only thoughts—doubts, fears, limits—waiting to be made footstools by the act of imaginatively assuming the fulfilled state. The paradox dissolves as you accept that the divine idea already stands as your present awareness, and you act from that inner throne. Try this: identify the feeling of the wish fulfilled as if the entire scene is already true; speak from the lordly self to your mortal self in the same breath. The presence of God is not somewhere out there; it is the I AM looking through your eyes now, and through that seeing all things are possible.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of the fulfilled state and revise any sense of separation by consciously sitting at the right hand of your mind and speaking from that lordly self.
