23(As it is written in the law of the LORD, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
24And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
Luke 2:22-24

Biblical Context

Mary completes purification rites and presents Jesus at the temple. The law specifies offering two birds as sacrifice.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the scene is not about a distant ceremony; it is your inner state. The 'days of her purification' are the quiet moments when you still the restless mind and release the belief that blessing comes from without. When they bring him to Jerusalem, they bring the newborn awareness—the Christ within—to be presented to the I AM, the one life that dwells in you. The law's line about every male that opens the womb being holy to the Lord marks the birth of consciousness as sacred when acknowledged as the I AM. The 'sacrifice' of two turtledoves is not ritual animal offering but the two powers of consciousness at work within you: gratitude and surrender, praise and thanksgiving. These are the 'birds' you place on the altar of your awareness to keep the temple pure. Read as inner scripture, the scene invites you to enter your own temple now, know that you are already there, holy to the Lord of your being, and let awareness renew itself from within.

Practice This Now

Assume you are the temple now; in imagination, present the newborn I AM to the I AM, offering the two doves of gratitude and surrender, then feel it real as your state is renewed.
