Read Luke 16 in context

Scripture Focus

19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
Luke 16:19-21

Biblical Context

A rich man lives in luxury while a beggar named Lazarus lies at his gate, longing for crumbs.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the text, Luke presents two faces of consciousness rather than two distant figures. The rich man’s feast and the beggar at his gate symbolize interior conditions you carry: abundance born of a closed, self-satisfied imagination, and poverty born of neglecting the truth that feeds all. Lazarus’s sores and the dogs licking them mirror the neglected pains of mind that you permit when you identify with lack. The gate marks the boundary of awareness; the scene shifts not by geography but by the state you presume to be true. When you entertain the I AM as your only reality, you dissolve the separation between rich and poor. Your sense of outside wealth or want answers to your inner conviction: what you feed yourself with in imagination becomes the visible world. If you revise the scene to feel the universe feeding you, you reverse the dynamic: the crumbs become a feast; the gate becomes a doorway into supply; Lazarus rises as neglected aspects of yourself are welcomed into consciousness. Remember: every condition is a belief you are choosing, and a new choice can awaken the I AM here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and revise the scene, feeling the I AM feeding you abundantly; see Lazarus at the gate as a needed aspect welcomed into your consciousness. Let the sensation 'I am fed' sweep through you, here and now.
