Entering the Strait Gate Within

Luke 13:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 13 in context

Scripture Focus

24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luke 13:24

Biblical Context

Luke 13:24 teaches that entering the Kingdom requires a decisive inner shift; many seek entry through outward measures but fail to sustain the inner transformation.

Neville's Inner Vision

On the inner level the strait gate is the boundary between the old self and the new I am awareness. The word strive signals not rough resistance but a refined focus, the willingness to endure the inward correction until the sense of self harmonizes with the Kingdom. Those who seek to enter and are not able are not failing states of consciousness but failing to sustain an inner shift, hoping entry will come only through external acts. Neville teaches that the Kingdom is not somewhere out there but the awareness you already are. To enter you must revise your self image until it matches the state you desire. When you imagine from the end and feel the wish fulfilled as real in the inner man, the door opens in consciousness. The narrowness of the gate mirrors how precise your assumption must be; you cannot pass through the old self with the old door. Hold an unwavering I am presence and persevere in feeling the truth now, and the outer scene will align with your inner state.

Practice This Now

Assume the inner state I am already in the strait gate. Sit for five minutes and revise any trace of doubt by repeating I am and feeling the wish fulfilled as real.
