Luke 12:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 12 in context

Scripture Focus

4And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Luke 12:4-5

Biblical Context

Jesus says not to fear those who can harm the body, for they have limited power. Instead, fear the One who has ultimate authority over life and the inner state that creates reality.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, you are not summoned to worship danger or deny it; you are invited to awaken to the God-state within. The 'they' who threaten the body are merely outer appearances in your dream of life. The real judge and governor is the I AM you, the awareness that animates your being. When you are conscious of this I AM, the power to 'cast into hell' is the inner law by which you discipline your thoughts until they align with your divine image. The fear Jesus warns against is not fear of death but fear of losing contact with your true self. Providence does not rescue you from seeming danger; it guides you by your state of consciousness—your inner conviction that you are always one with the Source. So live from the end: you are safe, you are guided, your life reflects your inner God-state. When you assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you will see the world bow to your inner truth; all is well in the I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and affirm, 'I AM the authority of my life.' Feel that your inner God-state governs every outer appearance; revise any fear by resting in this truth.
