Biblical Context
Luke 12:35-40 urges readiness: keep your lamps burning and stay watchful for the Master’s return; those who remain awake are blessed as He serves them. The passage invites inner discipline and trust, not external clocks.
Neville's Inner Vision
To me, this is not a schedule of events but a map of consciousness. The loins girded and the lamps lit symbolize a mind steadied in the I AM—an awareness that refuses to be lulled by circumstance. The Lord returning from the wedding is your higher self returning to rule within; when you 'open unto Him immediately,' you are consenting to act as if the divine presence is already here. 'Blessed are those who watch' means the state of awakened attention, where every thought and feeling serves your central alignment. Even if the Master comes in the second or third watch, the blessing remains because your interior posture remains: alive, expectant, receptive. If the goodman of the house would have known the hour of the thief, he would have guarded himself; likewise, secrecy of mind produces vulnerability. Therefore, be ready also, for the Son of Man comes at an hour you do not expect—this is the moment you remember you are the I AM, and your imagination is the instrument by which reality is born. The inner coming is a present tense unfoldment when you choose to awaken.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and assume, I AM, here and now; envision your inner house as lit and orderly, then picture the Master returning and serving you—feel that reality in your chest until it remains.
