Gatekeepers of Inner Knowledge

Luke 11:52 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Luke 11 in context

Scripture Focus

52Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Luke 11:52

Biblical Context

The passage warns that those who claim to be experts can block the pathways to true knowledge, hindering both themselves and others from entering the inner realm of understanding.

Neville's Inner Vision

Luke 11:52 appears as a warning to the inner gatekeepers of my mind. The 'lawyers' are not merely legal men; they are the habits of thought that claim to know while withholding the key from myself. I have taken away the key of knowledge whenever I confuse external authority with true seeing, whenever I demand conditions before I will enter the state of knowing. In Neville's language, God is the I AM—awareness that can realize any truth by imagining it real. When I cling to the belief that knowledge resides outside my inner life, I hinder those who would enter through me by the very posture of doubt I sustain. The true key is inner discernment: I enter by assuming the state of the knowing I wish to experience and feel it as already mine. The gate dissolves as I align with I AM and let imagination do the heavy lifting. I am the door, the gatekeeper, and the way through is to feel it real.

Practice This Now

Assume the state that you already know. Close your eyes, say, 'I AM the knowledge within,' and feel the gate swing open as you step through into clarity.
