Luke 11:17-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Jesus declares that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, and exposes the error of attributing power to Beelzebub. The scene invites inner reconciliation—the mind's unity under one sovereign I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within these verses, the kingdom is not a geography but a state of consciousness. When the mind is split—seeking light while clinging to fear—it collapses under its own contradiction. The accusation that I cast out devils by Beelzebub is merely the mind complaining about power it cannot own. In Neville's terms, God is awareness, and awareness performs the decisive act; hence no external force can govern your inner world. If Satan’s kingdom is said to be divided, the whole inner city loses its center; the issue is belief in competing powers within. The test therefore is not argument but assumption. When you acknowledge the One Power within—the I AM—you stop feeding the devils by insisting on a separate source of power. The crowd's 'your sons' are only a reflection of your own divided thoughts; as you drop the split and rest in unity, the inner army of fear dissolves and deliverance becomes obvious: the kingdom that remains is the kingdom within you, sovereign and complete.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the I AM is the sole ruler of your inner kingdom and feel the unity spreading through every thought. Revise any belief in two powers until you taste a single, calm center at the heart of your mind.
