Leviticus 3:5

Biblical Context

Leviticus 3:5 describes Aaron's sons burning a sacrifice on the altar, a ritual that is a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your mind is the altar; the sweet savour is the feeling you impress upon it. The fire of desire, the wood on the altar, and the act of burning symbolize the conversion of belief into vivid inner reality. Aaron’s sons represent the inner faculties of attention and imagination performing the rite; their offering is not an animal but your intensified feeling held long enough to fragrance your being with the aroma of what you choose to realize. The LORD’s presence is the recognition of I AM already present within you; holiness and separation arise as you refuse doubt and keep your awareness fixed on the fulfilled state. This is true worship: aligning your inner disposition with the world you seek by a steadfast assumption, faithful feeling, and the emotional yes that makes it real. When you repeatedly offer this inner scent, your outer life gradually carries the aroma of your chosen state.

Practice This Now

Assume the fulfilled state in your heart and hold the feeling on the mental altar as if it already is. Persist in that feeling until it becomes your ordinary awareness.
