Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The LORD instructs the priests not to defile themselves for the dead among the people, except for certain near kin, such as mother, father, children, brother, and a virgin sister who is close to him and has had no husband.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Leviticus 21:1-3 as a map of your inner temperature, not a mere external rite. The 'dead' symbolize memories and fears that would defile your consciousness if entertained as real. The priests represent your highest state of awareness—your I AM—that must refrain from contact with death so the living light within remains undimmed. Defilement arises when a thought of lack or loss takes root; purity comes when you stay present in awareness. The listed kin show the places where your energy sits nearest you; some closeness is sacramental and allowed, yet the boundary proves that your state of consciousness must govern every relation. The virgin sister, near yet untouched by union, hints at new creation within consciousness—an idea or opportunity that you may defile only by fear. The practice is to hold the I AM as your unchanging reality and let every scene reflect that perpetual purity.
Practice This Now
Begin each day by affirming, 'I am the living I AM here and now.' If a memory or fear arises, revise by returning to that I AM and feel it real for 60 seconds, breathing with the certainty that nothing outside can defile the inner self.
