Leviticus 18:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Leviticus 18 in context

Scripture Focus

3After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.
5Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 18:3-5

Biblical Context

The passage warns against copying ancient Egypt and Canaanite ways. It urges you to live by God's judgments and statutes as the path to true life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Egypt and Canaan are not lands but states of mind you once inhabited. The LORD your God—the I AM that you are—dwells in your very awareness, and thus the command to keep my judgments and mine ordinances is a summons to inner order. To 'live in them' is not a ritual to perform but a shift of being; it means letting the inner laws govern your sense of self and your choices. When you imagine and feel as if you already obey these divine statutes, you awaken a new vitality that the outer world follows. The act of obedience becomes a reverent listening to your own inner governor, not a striving after external codes. By refusing to imitate the old cultures, you give attention to the life that truly exists in your awareness, and your life aligns with that inner law. In this way you are keeping covenant loyalty with your real self, walking in holiness by the steady practice of the inner statutes.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine you are standing in your inner temple, I AM present. Repeat, 'I am the Lord my God,' and feel the inner laws guiding every choice today.
