Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the altar is the field of awareness where you are already the priest and the witness. The sprinkling of blood upon the altar represents the cleansing action of attention—each thought touched by the conscious I AM is washed and made fresh. The burning of the fat for a sweet savour is the cultivation of a joyous, grateful feeling-state that signals to consciousness, 'this is acceptable to God within me.' The clause about not offering sacrifices to devils points to abandoning counterfeit gods—fear, lack, and limitation that rise from false beliefs about separation. When you recognize that these devils are merely stories your mind repeats, you choose a new pew, a new posture of worship: not in rites outside, but in unwavering loyalty to the living I AM here and now. This is the timeless law: the law of consciousness that makes the external world conform to the inner state you persist in imagining. Hence, every moment is the opportunity to revise, to return to the altar, and to smell the sweet savour of your own awakened state.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, center awareness at the chest as the inner altar; imagine spraying the blood of consciousness over every thought, and feel the sweet savour of gratitude rise.
