Inner Life Through Blood
Leviticus 17:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Leviticus 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Life resides in the blood; blood sustains life, and therefore eating blood is forbidden; those who eat it are cut off.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here we see the inner law: life is not a thing you purchase from without, but a movement within your own consciousness. The blood is the emblem of the vibratory life that animates every form. To say 'it is the life of all flesh' is to declare that your reality is powered by the inner energy of I AM, not by outer rituals or appetite. When you imagine yourself consuming blood or external sustenance as the source of life, you are contradicting the truth that life flows from your awareness. The prohibition is a psychical cue to guard the boundary between mere desire and the living presence that you are. If you, in imagination, accept that life animates you, you will stop trying to feed on others' vitality or on appearances; you will honor the integrity of your inner kingdom by refusing to 'eat' anything that would drain your life-force. The 'cut off' speaks to a natural separation from beliefs that resupply you with life by dubious means; you awaken to the certainty that you are life itself, sustained by the I AM.
Practice This Now
Assume now the feeling that your life is the blood of your being—flowing from I AM as inner vitality. Quietly declare, 'I am the life of all I touch; my vitality is not drawn from without but expressed from within,' and dwell on that sensation for a few minutes.
