Biblical Context
Leviticus 11:10-12 declares that anything in water without fins or scales is an abomination and not to be eaten. It marks a boundary of ritual purity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Neville’s reading, the sea of life in you is a field of awareness; the fins and scales symbolize boundaries that shape thoughts and impulses. The prohibition against things without fins or scales is not a dietary decree but an invitation to inner order: to observe when attention moves without form, when feeling and belief run loose without identity. Purity, then, is the steady I AM presence that defines what is allowed to become real. To treat certain thoughts as unfit to feed is to echo the ancient law in consciousness: you are teaching your mind what you will host and what you will discard. Thoughts and nourishment share the same energy; feed only what contributes to alignment with your true state. The carcasses point to neglected parts of attention—unintegrated impulses and memories. Transmute them by affirming unity with the I AM and by choosing images that are structured, buoyant, and true to your inner order.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the inner sea. See fins and scales forming around every thought and impulse, and affirm, 'I AM the order of this sea,' feeling it real.
