Leviticus 10:8-9

Biblical Context

The Lord instructs Aaron and his sons not to drink wine or strong drink when approaching the tabernacle, to preserve holiness and life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Leviticus 10:8-9, you are not merely obeying a ritual; you are learning to govern your inner atmosphere. The prohibition against wine or strong drink is a symbol for sobriety of consciousness when you enter the tabernacle of your mind. The tabernacle is the sacred space of awareness where God the I AM resides. If you carry intoxicants—desire, fear, or sensory drama—you dilute that presence and you die to true perception, for you identify with a lower state. By adopting the stance that I am sober and fully awake, you reverse the effect: you become the temple where Spirit freely enters. The statute becomes a living practice: any moment you feel pulled by distraction, revise to In this moment I am the witness; I am the I AM here, now. When you claim that, you honor life, you remain alive to possibility, and you keep the door open for divine presence to move through you.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Before any gathering or task, assume the stance I am sober, I am present. Enter the mental tabernacle and feel the presence of God now.
