Orphaned No More: Inner Father
Lamentations 5:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse voices a felt state of being an orphan and widow, a child of absence, highlighting an inner hunger for protective care. In Neville's view, this is a consciousness, not a fact.
Neville's Inner Vision
On the level of consciousness, 'We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows' speaks of a moment when the sense of self seems cut off from the divine Source. Yet Neville would say that you are not really separated; you are simply believing yourself apart from the I AM. The orphanage and widowhood are states of mind, not external conditions. When fear, lack, or loneliness rise, notice that they are only the weather of your inner atmosphere. The I AM, the awareness that you are, stands as the living Father and Mother within you. To move from lack to abundance, you must assume possession of your true nature: feel the presence of the divine caregiver as your immediate reality. Imagination is the instrument by which you reorganize your inner world; you revise the feeling that you are unsupported into the felt certainty of support, protection, and blessing. As you persist in this inner assumption, the outer appearances shift, for reality follows the consciousness that stands behind it.
Practice This Now
Practice: In the next 5 minutes, close your eyes and repeat the sentence, 'I AM the Father and the Mother of my life; I lack nothing; I am held by the I AM.' If memories of abandonment arise, revise them with, 'I awaken to the truth that I am one with the I AM, and my world rises to reflect this divine companionship.'
