Biblical Context
The passage laments that what should be theirs—inheritance and home—has been taken by strangers. It also speaks of deep loneliness, as if they are orphans without parents.
Neville's Inner Vision
Let the lines reveal not a historical loss but a turning of your consciousness. What is called inheritance, home, even the quiet mothers and fathers of old, are but symbols for the state you currently hold in mind. When your awareness identifies with lack, your inner inherited abundance becomes estranged, surrounded by strangers; when you awaken, the I AM, the inner presence, calls all things back to you. The verse asks you to notice the contraction of life as if you were an orphan in your own world. But you can reverse the movement with a simple assumption: I AM the natural owner of all my supply; I AM the authority and the house of my being; I AM surrounded by care. Begin to feel the reality of your own inner household as already established by consciousness, and let the sense of separation dissolve. The apparent exile is only a state of mind; your true inheritance cannot be lost to any outside power when you stand in the I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise the scene. Feel the I AM as the source of all your supply, restoring your inner house and rightful inheritance now.
