Portion of Hope Within
Lamentations 3:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Lamentations 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse says the soul claims the Lord as its portion, and from that inner possession it places its hope in Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Scripture is not a history to be believed but a condition of consciousness to be realized. When the verse proclaims, 'The Lord is my portion, saith my soul,' it is your inner I AM acknowledging itself as the share of life, the very ground upon which you stand. Your soul does not look outward for sustenance; it asserts the One Power as the measure and limit of all you think and feel. From that inner identification, hope arises not as a wish for future mercy but as a present recognition: you are already kept, supplied, and guided by the unseen Principle that you call God. To believe this is to revise your mental weather; fear is displaced by the felt fact that you are contained within a benevolent Presence. In practice, you do not beg a distant deity—you revise your state until the sense of lack dissolves into fullness. The promise of Providence becomes your experiential baseline because you have deemed the I AM sufficient.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, repeat 'The Lord is my portion' until it lands as a felt truth, then imagine your day flowing from that inner share, with supply and guidance present in every moment.
