Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes someone bringing a present to Eglon, king of Moab, and notes that Eglon was a very fat man.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your consciousness, the king represents your central I AM—your ruling state of awareness. The fat king stands for a swell of wealth, appetite, and authority that has grown in your inner life. When you read that a present is brought to him, you are witnessing an inner movement: you offer an investment of belief to the very mindset that determines your world. In Neville's psychology, the outer event is the shadow of an inner posture; the so-called abundance that fills the king is really your own imaginative life ripening into form. The instruction here is not about changing a history but about changing your state. You are asked to acknowledge sovereignty within and to consent that provision follows from the inner state you assume. So see the king not as separate from you but as a segment of your I AM, swollen with wealth through persistent imagination. Assume that you possess already what you seek, and feel the feeling of that possession as real now. This is how the kingdom of God is established within you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the inner king; mentally place in his presence a gift that symbolizes abundance, then feel that the gift is already yours as you breathe.
