Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Israel turns from the LORD, and the LORD strengthens Eglon the king of Moab against them, leading to eighteen years of oppression. The passage portrays a cycle of disobedience resulting in hardship and subjugation.
Neville's Inner Vision
Judges 3:12-14 invites us to read the outer oppression as a mirror of inner life. When Israel turns from the I AM, the mind yields to a stronger claim by an imagined ruler—Eglon—proving that the enemy is a state of consciousness you have allowed to govern you. The Moabite coalition and the eighteen years symbolize persistent habits of fear and obedience to a lie about your power. The LORD strengthening Eglon is the moment your attention empowers the old story. But Neville teaches that you can rewrite the scene by returning to the inner ruler, the I AM, and affirming sovereignty now. Assume the feeling of the king on the throne of your mind. Feel the presence of the true self, ruling over every thought and decree. If fear returns, revise by shifting your state: 'I am the I AM; I reign here and now.' As you dwell in that inward state, the oppression dissolves, and outward events reflect your new inner conviction. The change is instantaneous in your awareness, not delayed by time.
Practice This Now
Assume the Sovereign I AM now and feel it real for 5–10 minutes daily. If fear resurfaces, revise by repeating: 'The I AM governs my mind; I am free.'
