Samson's Timnath Decision

Judges 14:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Judges 14 in context

Scripture Focus

1And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.
2And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
3Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
4But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.

Biblical Context

Samson goes to Timnath, sees a Philistine woman, and asks his parents to marry her. They caution him, not knowing this move serves a divine purpose against the Philistines.

Neville's Inner Vision

Look upon Samson’s demand as your own inner drama. The Philistines are the exterior forces that press upon your birthright; the LORD moving in his life is the inner I AM at work, signaling that an inner occasion has been prepared to show you what you truly desire. When you say, 'get her for me,' you are simply naming a vibration you have chosen to inhabit. The parents who protest are the inner committee of habit and fear; they do not know that this is the LORD’s arrangement for awakening your courage and testing your obedience. Rather than following the outward event, feel the impulse through the lens of your divine I AM, and revise it into a clearer call: align with the inner guidance, not with external appearances. The moment you accept this, the outer world rearranges to reflect your new state of consciousness. The entire scene becomes a mirror; the 'occasion against the Philistines' is your inner battle won through faith, not through worldly conformity.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the feeling 'I am led by the I AM to the right occasion' and feel it real now; revise any impulsive attraction as a sign guiding you to inner strength.
