Inner Life of Jude 1:16-19

Jude 1:16-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jude 1 in context

Scripture Focus

16These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Jude 1:16-19

Biblical Context

These verses describe people who murmur and complain, chasing their own desires, and using grand words to gain favor. They mock others, separate themselves, and lack the Spirit.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theatre of your being, Jude’s portrait of murmurers and mockers is not outside you but a state of consciousness you may slip into. Murmuring and complainer are the self that fixates on lack, chasing lusts and status, speaking with swelling words to gain advantage in the arena of appearances. The warning about mockers in the last time invites you to observe the tendency to separate, to build walls of 'us' and 'them' and to cling to sensual impressions rather than the Spirit. Remember that the words of the apostles become a living reminder for your own inner script: the call to holiness and obedience is a summons to align with the Spirit within, not with external applause. When you identify with the I AM—the unchanging awareness behind all you experience—the illusion of separation dissolves. You no longer require others’ approval or a position of power; you rest in unity with the Spirit, which is ever-present and not swayed by words or appearances. Your inner life reforms; the old lusts fade as the light of consciousness expands.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume, 'I am the I AM; I choose the Spirit within.' Revise the self away from murmuring and lusts, feeling the reality of wholeness until it becomes your steady state.
