Stretching the Spear of Victory
Joshua 8:18-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua 8:18-22 records the LORD commanding Joshua to stretch the spear toward Ai; the ambush succeeds and Israel takes the city as the smoke ascends, while pursuers are cornered.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this inner sense, Ai is a stubborn habit within the mind. The Lord’s command to stretch the spear is the act of re-centering attention in the I AM. When I stand in that I AM and affirm, I am free now, an inner ambush arises—a decisive momentum of imagination coming from behind the old belief. The city is taken not by swords but by the overwhelming presence of a new story. The smoke is the visible sign that the inner state has closed the distance between wish and manifestation, and the old pattern retreats as the psyche turns toward completion. I witness the process in myself: obedience to the inner command aligns all faculties and dissolves resistance into light. The victory is the restoration of right relation within the self, the salvation that comes with alignment.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, declare 'I am the I AM,' and imagine stretching a radiant spear toward your desired outcome. See the city of your goal captured, smoke rising, and feel the victory as already accomplished.
