Ark Of Awareness: Crossing Joshua 3
Joshua 3:1-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua leads the people; they prepare and follow the ark across the Jordan. They keep a measured distance until guidance is to be followed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the narrative as a map of your inner rising. The ark is not a box in the desert but the I AM that you are conscious of, carried by your inner faculties of thought and feeling (the priests). When the people 'see' the ark and move after it, you are being told to align every sense with the conscious assumption that you already stand in the promised land of your new state. The space of two thousand cubits is the necessary margin between old identifications and the new awareness, an invitation to not crowd the presence of God with stale ideas. The three days of waiting are your interior preparation—calibrating your mind to the truth of your unity with the divine. Sanctify yourselves means purify belief and emotion, letting go of doubt so that tomorrow the LORD—your deepest I AM—will do wonders within you. The priests bearing the ark ahead of the people symbolizes your inner faculties moving your behavior into alignment with the new state. When you act from that awareness, the crossing becomes inevitable, and the wonders reveal themselves as you continue.
