Covenant Courage: Joshua 23:6-7
Joshua 23:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 23 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage commands courage to keep the law and not turn aside to the right or left. It also warns against engaging with the gods of neighboring nations and to remain faithful to the covenant.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua’s charge is a mirror for inner life. The 'book of the law' is the law written on your own consciousness; courage is not bravado but the unwavering steadiness of a mind that remains fixed in its assumed outcome. To keep and to do all that is written is to dwell in the state that makes the law alive, and to turn neither to the right nor to the left is to refuse every competing thought that would redraw your picture. The nations that remain among you are the lingering beliefs and fears that seem close, yet they exist only as mental images. Do not mention their gods, for you are not addressing illusion, you are choosing a different reality by choosing a new inner allegiance. The covenant loyalty is the daily return to the I AM, the awareness that you are whole, complete, and governed by a timeless law. When you live from that inner state, the outer scene—laws, names, and idols—fades into the background and your desired order becomes natural.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume the state of inner obedience, declaring I AM the law written in my heart, and I turn away from all idols. Feel this conviction until it fills my whole being.
