Biblical Context
Joshua 18:16-17 describes a border that unfolds along mountains and valleys, signaling how a territory is mapped. In Neville's terms, this border is an inner boundary of consciousness, drawn by your present awareness and loyalty to the I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua's border line, though spoken of as a land’s edge, is first a gift to your inner life. The mountain before the valley of Hinnom is not geography but the place in your mind where imagination rises to command. The valley of the giants on the north stands for the fears and inherited beliefs that seem tall in your memory, yet they are only weather in an atmosphere you control. The descent toward Enrogel and Enshemesh traces the movements of your attention as you loosen old identifications and move toward the light of Geliloth—the going up. To be loyal to the covenant is to refuse to let circumstance set your boundaries; you decree, by the I AM, that this border is yours to redraw. The Kingdom of God lies not in a distant territory, but in a living awareness that you cultivate through assumption. As you imagine yourself inside, the landscape reorganizes to reflect your consciousness: where you focus becomes the land you inhabit.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the I AM now, and declare the border of the Kingdom is established within you. Feel this inner land settle as you revise any sense of lack by affirming, 'The kingdom within is established now.'
