Inward Conquest, Quiet Sovereignty
Joshua 17:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
The verse lists cities Manasseh possessed, yet the inhabitants remained and the land was not fully driven out. As strength grew, the people taxed the land but did not purge it.
Neville's Inner Vision
Read these verses as a map of inner states. The land of Manasseh stands for your mind; Issachar, Asher, Bethshean and their towns are the faculties you have claimed. Yet the inhabitants of Canaan are stubborn beliefs that cling to you until your awareness, the I AM, is fully awake. When the text says they could not drive them out, recognize this as a moment of inner counsel: transformation comes with the present vibration of who you are now, not with a future act. As you grow strong, you may impose tribute on these remnants, but true conquest requires eviction by a resolute declaration of I AM. Do not fear the remaining inhabitants—let them bow under your sovereignty by your revision, not by struggle. The scriptures teach that you must evoke a completed state in your imagination; until you do, the outer scene will mirror the inner uncertainty. So awaken to your kingly life and let your I AM govern every city within. When you inhabit that inner conquest, the outer order follows, and you stand in grace and authority.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I have driven out every lingering inhabitant of my inner land.' Then feel the peace of a mind fully claimed by I AM, as if the cities are already governed.
