Joshua 13:12

Biblical Context

Joshua 13:12 describes the defeat of the kingdom of Og, the remnant giants, by Moses; symbolizing an inner victory over entrenched beliefs.

Neville's Inner Vision

Og's kingdom is not a distant king in history but a stubborn part of my consciousness—a Bashan where fears cling to the castle walls of Ashtaroth and Edrei. The verse speaks of a kingdom that once reigned, a remnant that Moses (my higher self, the still, small voice) smites and casts out. In this light, 'God's people' are states of consciousness; the giants are fixed beliefs, inherited judgments, and stubborn images that whisper 'not yet' to my possibilities. When I acknowledge them as a dream within, the act of smiting becomes not punishment but release: casting out means I withdraw identification and refuse to let those thoughts rule my present. The victory is not over others but over my own conditioned mind—providence guiding me to choose the truth of my I AM over fear-laden stories. As my mind aligns with the limitless kingdom, the outer world shifts to mirror inner freedom: old fears recede, new choices arise, and the promised land becomes a felt reality here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the giants are cast out of your Bashan; feel the relief as the I AM takes the throne. Silently declare, 'Og's kingdom is dethroned within me.'
