Inner Lift of the Son of Man

John 8:25-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 8 in context

Scripture Focus

25Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
26I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
28Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30As he spake these words, many believed on him.
John 8:25-30

Biblical Context

Jesus declares that what he speaks comes from the true Father, and that when the Son of Man is lifted up, people will know his true identity. He emphasizes he does nothing of himself and that the Father is with him, guiding his words and deeds, and that many believed as they heard these words.

Neville's Inner Vision

The Father is the I AM within you. In these lines, Jesus says the speaker is true because he is sent by a truthful source, and that his words come from hearing the Father. The lifting up of the Son of Man is not a distant event but a shift in consciousness, an elevation of your identity into the awareness that you are the expression of the Father within. When you lift up your own Son of Man, you acknowledge that you speak not by your own will but by the inner Voice that has taught you. The world responds to inner movements; belief comes as you rest in this truth and allow the inner Father to direct your speech and action. The Father is with you when you align with that inner law and do what pleases him, and the miracle is that many believe as you live from that source. The lift is happening now inside you; the outer world simply mirrors the inner truth you have embraced.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: In quiet stillness, imagine the inner Father speaking through you; say, I am lifted up in consciousness, and I speak only what pleases the Father within me. Feel the reality as if it already is.
