Inner Water Purity Practice

John 2:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 2 in context

Scripture Focus

6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
John 2:6-7

Biblical Context

John 2:6-7 shows six purification waterpots and Jesus’ command to fill them with water, pointing to an inner readiness rather than outward ritual. It frames the act as a psychology of attention and belief.

Neville's Inner Vision

These six waterpots are not about stone and water; they are the shapes of your inner life, the habitual forms of thought you carry into each moment. Purification rites point to a state of awareness you believe you must achieve externally; Neville would say they signify the purity you already are when you attend to your I AM. The instruction 'Fill the waterpots with water' is an invitation to pour your attention, belief, and feeling into the very containers your mind uses to separate you from your desires. When you fill them to the brim, you are declaring that your world is not made by laws outside you but by the imaginative energy you are conscious of. The water is light in disguise—awareness that can be transmuted into any experience by the act of assumption; the purification becomes not rites but the alignment of feeling with the state you wish to inhabit. The moment you assume, you begin to taste the transformation, even if the outward 'washing' has not yet appeared. Your job is to dwell in the feeling of already having what you seek.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and see six vessels before you. Fill each with the living water of awareness, then declare quietly: I am the I AM, and I now dwell in the state I choose.
