Inner Die for the People
John 18:12-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus is bound and led away by the band and officers to the authorities. Caiaphas asserts that it is expedient that one man die for the people.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this scene, the band, captain, and officers are not men surrounding a person, but the inner band of thoughts that bind your awareness. When you feel bound, you are listening to the inner Annas and Caiaphas—the old beliefs of separation that say one life must die for the many. Yet the 'one man' who must die is not a person but a belief in a separate self; letting that belief die liberates the whole man, your entire consciousness. The counsel that it is expedient that one die for the people is the decisive moment when a limited self yields to unlimited awareness. The Jesus who is bound is not killed but released from bondage to fear, lack, and scarcity. As you dwell in that I AM, imagine the inner authorities bowing to your living, indivisible consciousness. The violence of the scene becomes a symbolic shedding of attachment, fear, and scarcity, allowing the entire being to be renewed in alignment with the truth that you are the singular life expressing as many forms. This is birth, not tragedy, as the old story perishes so the universal life may express through you now and here.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare I am the I AM; the old self dies to give life to the whole, and feel a warm release as the sense of separation dissolves. Maintain that felt sense for a minute and observe new possibilities arising.
