John 17:26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 17 in context

Scripture Focus

26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
John 17:26

Biblical Context

Jesus has declared God's name to his followers and will declare it again. The purpose is that the love with which God loved Jesus may be in them, and that Jesus may dwell in them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this line, the 'name' is not a label in a book but the living nature of your awareness. To declare it to them is to awaken you to the fact that the same love with which God loved Jesus is now present in your consciousness. You are not external to God; you are the field on which the divine moves. When you practice the inner act of assuming the I AM as your steady reality, you invite that love to dwell in you as you dwell in it. The verse says that I in them, and them in me, which is simply the realization that your inner state and God’s presence are one, already, now. Feel the current of grace widening your being, until the sense of separation dissolves and the mutual abiding becomes your normal experience. As you hold this feeling, you align your imagination with the truth that you are loved, chosen, and contained within the divine life, just as Jesus lives in the Father and the Father lives in him.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and affirm I AM within me declaring the name of God; feel the love that loved Jesus now filling my heart and body. Rest in that sense of mutual abiding for a few minutes.
