John 17:22-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 17 in context

Scripture Focus

22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
John 17:22-23

Biblical Context

Jesus prays that the glory given to him is shared with his followers so they may be one, as he is one with the Father. He speaks of God dwelling in him and in them, that they may be perfected in unity.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 17 reveals a principle: the glory Christ bears is not mere privilege but an inward coherence of consciousness. The 'I' that knows God is the same I that dwells in you, and the Father who animates Jesus also animates you. 'I in them, and thou in me' is not a distance but a mingling of states—the oneness of awareness. When you claim this, you stop seeking from without and begin living from within as the living expression of the I AM. The world’s knowing that God sent Jesus is the sign you radiate such unity; it reads your harmony and names it love. Therefore let the sense of separateness dissolve; let the glory you received become the texture of your daily life. Your mission—to witness by living this unity—flows naturally as you acknowledge the same God-consciousness at work in all beings. Practice daily: hold the steadfast assumption that you are one with the Father, and that all whom you meet share this life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, rest in the I AM presence, and repeat: 'I and the Father are one; the glory is mine now.' Feel the unity rise as a warm current and extend that sense to every person you meet.
