Kept by the I AM Unity
John 17:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus prays for protection and unity, asking the Father to keep his followers in the Father’s name so they may be one. He notes that those given to him are kept, with the betrayer singled out to fulfill scripture.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here is a map of the inner life. The world Jesus leaves is the stage of your outer perception; those given to him are the contents of your own consciousness—your ideas, loves, and mutual supports. When he asks the Holy Father to keep them through his name, he is teaching that the I AM you are, the awareness that knows, is the only power in keeping your inner circle intact. Unity is not a social condition but a state of consciousness: when you affirm that your circle is one with the divine, you experience that oneness as your immediate reality. The 'son of perdition' stands for any belief that disconnects you from this unity, a shadow within that scripture uses to reveal the necessity of retention in God. The line 'that the scripture might be fulfilled' is not a historical note but a reminder that inner alignment manifests as outer events that confirm your new state. Therefore, the only task is to dwell as the I AM and imagine the keeping, and you will see the outer world reflect the inward unity you behold.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling that the I AM is keeping you and your circle in perfect unity. Silently repeat, I and the Father are one, and remain in that oneness until it feels real.
