Biblical Context
Jesus says the Comforter will come after He departs to guide you into all truth, and to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Spirit’s coming marks an inner shift from old beliefs to inner awareness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the Comforter is the Spirit of Truth—your I AM awakening to itself. When Jesus says he must depart, he is describing a shift from the old self to a higher consciousness that can hear truth from within. The 'world' is your narrated set of beliefs about sin, righteousness, and judgment; the Spirit comes to reprove those beliefs, not you, but your old identification, so you may awaken. As you listen, you are guided into all truth; the Spirit does not speak for itself but speaks what it hears in the inner chamber of your awareness, revealing what is to come. Sin is belief in separation from God; righteousness is the realization that you and the Father are one; judgment is the ending of the old self where the 'prince of this world' is no longer lord. The Spirit will glorify the Son by showing you what already belongs to you, and it will show you your future possibilities in present seeing. Your task is to assume the state of that Spirit here and now, and let the inner voice lead.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the state: 'I am guided by the Spirit of Truth within me.' Then revise a current doubt by affirming: 'The inner Comforter has already shown me the truth I need to act on today.'
