From Father to World Within

John 16:28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 16 in context

Scripture Focus

28I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
John 16:28

Biblical Context

John 16:28 speaks of Jesus coming from the Father into the world, and then returning to the Father. It mirrors the soul's descent into life and ascent back to divine consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 16:28 presents a simple drama: coming from the Father into the world, and returning again to the Father. But in the realm I teach, this is not a geographical itinerary; it is a shift of consciousness. The Father is your eternal I AM—your innermost awareness. The world is the arena of imagination, the stage on which you suppose separation. When you hear 'I leave the world and go to the Father,' understand that your focus moves from outward appearances back to the one within. The movement is accomplished by a deliberate act of imagination: assume you are already in the Father's presence, that the world you see is a creation of your own mind, and that you are complete in the I AM. This does not negate action; it empowers it by grounding all activity in inner truth. As you practice this, your senses align with unity; you awaken to the truth that you never left the Father—only your awareness forgot itself into form, and now recollects itself again.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and feel: I am the I AM, already with the Father, while I walk in the world. Persist in that feeling until it feels real—the world recedes into inner light, and your sense of separation dissolves.
