John 16:25-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 16 in context

Scripture Focus

25These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
John 16:25-27

Biblical Context

Jesus explains that his current sayings are provisional, promising a time when the Father will be shown plainly; believers will ask in his name and are loved by the Father because they love Jesus and believe he came from God.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 16:25-27 speaks of the proverbs we wear as outer language, signaling an inner truth that will be revealed. The hour arrives when you know the Father directly, not as an external deity, but as the light of your own awareness—the I AM within. To ask in my name is not a petition to a distant Father, but the act of assuming the state Jesus represents, the oneness of I and the Father. The Father loves you because you have loved me and believed I came forth from God; this is the inner recognition that you are born of the same Life. Your love for the Christ within is your switch of belief, turning from lack to the certainty that the divine presence is your very own. The time cometh is your moment of realization, when you cease seeking and begin knowing the Father already dwelling in you. You need no mediator; the Father and you are one, and that intimate love is your true nature, always present in the I AM you are.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: in stillness, assume the state 'I AM one with the Father' and speak from that awareness. Feel the Father's love as your present reality.
