Inner Asking, Joyful Receiving

John 16:23-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 16 in context

Scripture Focus

23And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:23-24

Biblical Context

Plainly, the verse points to asking through the Father in Jesus’ name so that you may receive and your joy may be full. In Neville’s sense, this is a call to shift your inner state until your outer life reflects that fulfilled joy.

Neville's Inner Vision

That day is when you know you are the I AM, the presence that never lacks. The Father is within, and 'in my name' means embodying the consciousness Jesus represents. When you align your inner image with that pattern, your requests are already granted in the unseen, and the world yields as your inner state radiates outward. Do not seek permission from without; revise your sense of lack by assuming the wish fulfilled and dwelling in the certainty that it is done. Joy is not the reward after service but the natural glow of awareness that you are one with God and your imagination is the instrument through which God reveals creation.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled as your own I AM reality: I am receiving this now through the Father, in Jesus’ name. Then carry that joy in your heart until it becomes your habitual sense of being.
