Inner Persecution and Promise
John 16:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus warns his disciples that they will face offense and persecution from those who think they serve God, and that such acts arise because people have not known the Father or Jesus. He speaks so they may remember his words when the time comes and not be shaken by appearances.
Neville's Inner Vision
These lines are not a history of others; they are a map of your inner states. Persecution and offense are the outward signs of a mind clinging to old beliefs; they reveal where you still mistake spirit for form. When they say you will be put out of the synagogues, hear that as the turning aside of old judgments from your own inner house. The claim that they do these things because they have not known the Father nor me points to the simple fact: you are waking from ignorance of your own divine Father within. The time cometh is the moment the old self dies in you and yields to a higher awareness; the enemies are merely thoughts that resist your new state. I tell you these things so you may remember them when the time comes, and you will not be frightened by appearances, for I am with you—the Father within you—your I AM. Trust this, and your endurance becomes your proof that you live in a single, eternal consciousness.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling: I am not offended by outward appearances; I am in the Father now. When reaction rises, revise the inner scene to reflect your unity with the I AM.
