Chosen to Bear Inner Fruit

John 15:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 15 in context

Scripture Focus

16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
John 15:16

Biblical Context

The verse says you did not choose Jesus; He chose you to go and bear fruit that remains, and that whatever you ask the Father in His name, He will give you.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, the verse is an invitation to awaken to a state of consciousness. You did not choose Him; the I AM in you chose you, setting you into the role of the one who bears fruit. The fruit remains because it is not produced by effort but by the formation of a new inner state - a fixed conviction, a steady sense of being the possessor of what you seek. 'Go and bring forth fruit' becomes a command to act from that state, to let your outward world reflect the inner image. The promise that your askings are granted in My name is the assurance that the inner name is the name of your true self; your petitions are simply the expression of your inner state, and the Father responds by aligning circumstances to match that interior reality. So you can assume: I am chosen, I am empowered to bear fruit now. Keep that feeling until it saturates your thoughts, until your daily life shows evidence of the enduring fruit. By living from that state, you invite outcomes that honour the inner image.

Practice This Now

Assume the state now: I am chosen by the I AM to bear fruit that remains. Feel it real by imagining the fruit already present in your life and allowing outer circumstances to reflect that inner image.
