Lions Upon My Inner Land

Joel 1:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joel 1 in context

Scripture Focus

6For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
Joel 1:6

Biblical Context

Joel 1:6 speaks of a powerful invading nation coming upon the land. Its teeth are described as those of a lion.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, the verse reveals not a geographical attack but a storm of consciousness appearing as an invading nation. The ‘land’ is your inner field; the predators are fear, lack, and egoic judgment that lash with lion-like teeth to clamp down on peace. When you identify with that image, you experience exile from your true state—consciousness operating as God in you—yet the text speaks as a reminder that the I AM is awareness and you are that awareness. The remedy is not to fight the invader, but to revise your state from scarcity to abundance, from fear to love, from doubt to certainty. As you dwell in the Kingdom within, the invader dissolves; the land is restored to harmony, order, and rightful reign. The prophecy becomes promise: return to your true nature and witness the kingdom of God arise in place of the invasion.

Practice This Now

Practice: close your eyes, assume the state of I AM now; feel the wealth, safety, and peace as real as any outer victory. Then silently revise the scene by declaring, 'This land is mine, and the invader is dissolved by the light of awareness.'
