Biblical Context
Joel 1:19-20 depicts a cry to the LORD as fire devours the wilderness and beasts cry for relief. In Neville's view, this outward devastation reflects a state of consciousness; by assuming the I AM as present and whole, you invite the inner waters to restore.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beholding Joel’s cry, I see the fire that devours the pastures as the heat of fear burning away habitual beliefs. The wilderness is not a barren plot of land but a mind unreceptive to the truth of I AM. The beasts that cry originate in impulses seeking water; the rivers dried up symbolize the drying of inspiration when awareness is asleep to its own abundance. Neville would remind you that God is not out there judging the land but the I AM within you, the consciousness that says I am. When you attend to this inner presence and assume that the living waters are already circulating in your being, the outer scene begins to rearrange. Do not chase symptoms; revise the drama by insisting on the inner reality of abundance. In your imagination, imagine a river flowing through the soul, refreshing fields, reviving trees, and quenching every thirst of fear. Stay with that feeling until it becomes your dominant state, for imagination creates reality, and the drought dissolves as water returns to the inner landscape.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Close your eyes, assume the inner water is already circulating within you, and feel the renewal as a vivid, living presence. Repeat, I AM the living water within me now, and let that sensation dissolve drought.
