Job 34:13-15 speaks of a charge given to the earth and the world, and of the breath and life that God holds in His hand. In Neville’s light, these lines reveal that the earth and your life are not external stages secured by fortune, but inner dispositions and states of consciousness you assume. The ‘Who hath given him a charge’ question dissolves when you realize the I AM within you is the true governor of your experiences; when you set your heart upon man, you are anchoring your awareness to a breathing, moving life that you, and you alone, direct by belief. To imagine that God gathers your spirit and your breath is to acknowledge that your inner act of attention draws your vitality toward form. The warning that ‘All flesh shall perish together’ signals the peril of separating consciousness from its source; mortality is a consequence of misidentifying with the transient. Return to the I AM; declare ownership of your world; feel the divine breath as yours here and now. In that alignment Providence is not distant but intimate and present.
