Biblical Context
One's existence is arranged by a higher will, and the body is formed from clay, signaling both dependence and the seed of the divine image. It invites us to recognize our inner origin and dignity.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the self that says, Behold, I am according to thy wish, I answer: that is the very mechanism by which your world is formed. In this line, the 'I' is the inner I AM, the consciousness that sets the state. God's stead is not substitution but recognition: you are the living image that God placed in the seat of awareness. The clay is your starting material—the raw mortal form from which you sculpt by imagination. Do not mistake the substance for the reality. The reality is the awareness behind it; your imagination shapes your experience as a potter shapes clay. When you acknowledge that your present scene is the residue of your inner assumption, you regain power to revise. The inner 'thou' is your higher self; the outward order is the echo of your inner conviction. So live this by surrendering to a scene where you are already the healed, the whole, the capable, the dignified you. Then your life will re-form itself to match that inner image as surely as clay yields to form.
Practice This Now
Place a hand on your heart, close your eyes, and affirm, I AM the I AM; I am formed by consciousness, now living as my divine image. Feel the certainty in your chest for a full minute.
