Shadow Over Weeping Eyes
Job 16:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Job describes his face foul with weeping, and the shadow of death resting on his eyelids. It expresses an inner state of fear and exhaustion, not merely a physical condition.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the inner self, this verse reveals that suffering is a shift in consciousness, not an external omen. The tears are the sign that a living thought has taken residence in awareness; the eyelids wear the shadow because one leans into limitation by imagination. In Neville's method, God is the I AM, the witnessing awareness that experiences pain and its meaning. By acknowledging that you are imagining the fear, you can return to a different state of consciousness and re-vision your world. The visible face reflects an inner state; insistence that the world is against you keeps the shadow intact. However, by choosing a new, already-real inner state, the tears dry and the eyes brighten with confident seeing. Healing and restoration come not through resisting suffering but by re-choosing the consciousness that births it.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and revise the scene in your mind. Silently declare, 'I am the I AM; this moment I rest in a new state of health and clear vision,' and allow the feeling of relief to rise as if it is happening now.
